« I thought up and developed the AEMD method in the early 90s. By exploiting CBT resources, particularly from elements of behaviouralism and coaching as well as other elements borrowed from NLP or transactional analysis, I developed this method, which, based on analytic fundamentals, involves in-depth work on the emotions, mental blocks and the compensatory mechanisms that they generate ».

The AEMD was initially modelled for therapeutic use in the personal field. With David Démann having a business-oriented experience, he quickly found himself in a position to manage issues relating to the professional sphere.

Based on the AEMD tools, he has gradually developed solutions geared towards the expectations and needs of business leaders as well as senior executives. Today, these solutions allow him to provide relevant answers in a number of situations, both in terms of stress management and emotions, as well as optimisation of managerial methods, or even modernisation of HR models.

Until recently, he would have been perceived as iconoclastic at best for wanting to bring therapeutic models into a company. But since the emergence of the coaching, which, for this purpose, was adorned with a reassuring « corporate » look in order to offer legitimacy to HR services, the idea of breaking the historic taboo has made its path.

However, coaching itself quickly shows its own limitations as a participative tool for the in-depth transformation of the HR/management model, as well as in terms of efficiency in the emotional and behavioural management of borderline situations. It will then prove useful and helpful, but not decisive enough!

Moreover, and thanks to coaching in particular, we are witnessing a broad open-mindedness movement in many companies:

This makes it possible to acquire a fair reading of what is transferred onto us through spoken word as well as faint signals, by our counterparts. The intelligent use of this emotional material will also greatly help to become more inspiring, more motivational, in order to make our communication more just and effective, and thus, establish a more legitimate and natural leadership model.

By making the most of the adaptation of AEMD tools to the company’s field, we can offer customised solutions in order to adequately respond to each company’s needs, and solve each problem in an individual manner. Nevertheless, our generic model is available in practice as follows:

  • Emergency interventions on borderline situations, RSP, social movements etc.: Sessions of 2 hours at a fast pace (up to twice weekly).
  • Targeted interventions, meeting defined and limited specifications: 2-hour sessions, usually bi-monthly with intersessional monitoring.
  • Global support models for transformation (individual & group): Monthly full days & short seminars.
